Viva La Espana!

Swimming in the Mediterranean is unreal. I love the ocean so much and it was just a mermaid dream come true to be able to be on an island in Spain swimming in an ocean so far from the ones I have explored all my life.

Priscilla & I were adventurers and swam out to this little island in the distance

Goodnight Mallorca

We ate tapas, drank sangria, and swam around topless like all of the locals. I love how it is normal to be topless, as it should be. It is not a sexual thing like it is in America. It is simply people swimming and laying out in the most comfortable way. Spain kind of rules so.... I had to book a trip back for Barcelona!!

London Style.

Just a couple of California Girls in London.
Here are some pictures from one of our first trips to London, or as we like to call it londytown. I have been dreaming of exploring Europe since as long as I can remember and it is finally...happening!
I have been studying Fashion Design at the University of Hertfordshire since September and have been traveling as much as possible in between. Europe is a dream that I shall never wake up from!

Priscilla, Haley, & I.
I am wearing a purple bolo hat that I purchased at the Brick Lane Markets about 20 minutes prior to this photo. It is my very first London accessory, so instead of a classic black bolo I decided a pop of color was much more fitting for the occasion.
Black Kenneth Cole zip up coat.
Black top from Brandy Melville.
Tweed shorts & Banana Republic Boots.

Wearing my favorite knit St. John Jumper I purchased from Goodwill. It was stashed away with the shoulder padded suit jackets for 8 dollars. It was a beautiful moment. I love thrifting. You get to walk in to a place were there are no advertisements to distract you from what you are naturally drawn to. You are not focusing on what the mannequin is wearing or an overwhelming amount of new trends to follow. Shopping through vintage and thrift stores just feels more personal because the item you find has history behind it, unlike some of the fast fashion pieces.

My body's a zombie for you.
The perfect street art card for my little brothers 22nd birthday. Being weird is the best.

Free hand embroidery.

Free hand embroidery is essentially drawing...with a needle...but instead of paper you have fabric. It gives you the freedom to create your own patterns, designs, and explore different techniques and textures. You are not limited by the preset stitching techniques of the sewing machine.

Here is one of my pieces.
Thread on "vanishing fabric".
When you take it of the embroidery hoop you rinse it under water and you are left with only thread!

Simplistic sketches with minimal materials.

Quick illustrations with water soluble colored pencils and lead pencils I did while drinking the world's most delicious latte.

Inspiration can come from anywhere and everywhere.

For an upcoming collection idea I have been inspired through many sources that have all linked together to create a collection of adventure, whimsy, enchantment, and the perfect hint of creepy crimsons.

Here are some images that helped inspire:

From London with love

Standing in Bath Abbey, Bath, UK.

I am starting this Blog to share my love of fashion and art with you.
I think creativity is a beautiful thing and there is always something new to be inspired by. I decided to start this blog now because I have recently moved to London to Study Fashion Design. It is completely unreal and I am savoring every moment of it. I am from Southern California where I Study Fashion Merchandising at California State University Long Beach. Since I can remember I have been drawn to all things fashion. I used to dress myself in fancy hats and bedazzled leotards...so not much has changed. I come from a beautifully creative family which is why I have so many memories of  dressing up, drawing, painting, singing, building forts and pretending to be a mermaid in the pool. Fashion is expressive, creative, artistic and so deeply personal which is why I love it most. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Enjoy!
